Wraz z początkiem kalendarzowego lata rokrocznie tysiące Polaków ciągle staje przed odpowiedzią na pytanie gdzie spędzić najbliższy urlop, wakacje. 

Miejsc i kurortów, w których można odpocząć od codziennych trudów pracy, mając dni wolne jest naprawdę sporo, co z jednej strony ułatwia, a z drugiej utrudnia wybór. Bardziej chyba jednak ułatwia, ponieważ każdy, nawet najbardziej wymagający turysta, znajdzie coś dla siebie.O ile na wybrzeżu Morza Bałtyckiego po stronie polskiej w turystyce prym wiodą raczej małe miejscowości, które ze względu na dobrą lokalizację stały się cenionymi kurortami, o tyle jednak nie oznacza to, że wszyscy są skazani na wakacje w małych miejscowościach przepełnionych masami turystów. Nad naszym polskim morzem istnieje też bowiem dużo miast, które  rokrocznie gromadzą ogromne rzesze turystów. Oprócz bodaj najbardziej popularnego Trójmiasta ważnym miastem znajdującym się na polskim wybrzeżu jest Świnoujście.

Prawa miejskie Świnoujście otrzymało w 1765 roku. Było ono wówczas jednak miastem pruskim i funkcjonowało pod niemiecką nazwą Swinemünde. Od samych swoich początków było one portem morskim, a z biegiem czasu pod rządami Prus stawało się także najpierw kurortem, a później uzdrowiskiem. Po zakończeniu II wojny światowej i układzie poczdamskim, do terytorium Polski włączono miasto, które stało się najbardziej wysuniętym na zachód polskim portem.
Dlaczego warto wybrać Świnoujście? Jest to dość duże miasto (liczy sobie około 40 tysięcy mieszkańców) i posiada dobrze rozwiniętą komunikację miejską, co jest dużym udogodnieniem dla zwolenników aktywnej turystyki. A w tym mieście niewątpliwie jest co zwiedzać – przede wszystkim koniecznie będąc tam warto wybrać się na wycieczkę do Wolińskiego Parku Narodowego i na znane Jezioro Turkusowe, z którego widać mnóstwo wysp, w tym także te, które stanowią liczące sobie prawie 200 km2 powierzchnię miasta.  Samo Świnoujście położone jest na aż 44 wyspach, co jest fenomenem na skalę polską. Podobnym, ale już na skalę całej Europy, jest licząca sobie 68 m i mieszcząca się w Warszowie latarnia morska, która jest najwyższą latarnią na całym Starym Kontynencie! Oprócz tego warto zobaczyć też zobaczyć forty: Gerharda, Anioła i Zachodni zbudowane w XIX wieku. Z kolei każdy kto chciałby zażyć relaksu na łonie natury może się wybrać na spacer po Parku Zdrojowym, który utworzono ponad 200 lat temu i systematycznie modernizowano.
Naszym zdaniem, gdy mamy kilka dni wolnego od pracy zdecydowanie warto wybrać się do Świnoujścia. Jest to lepsza propozycja niż Ustka lub Władysławowo. Warto wybrać się do tego miasta również w zimę. Ma wiele atrakcji dla turystów o każdej porze roku. Serdecznie zapraszamy, więc wszystkich do Świnoujścia.
