Stratosphere w Las Vegas to najwyższa budowla w mieście grzechu, mająca aż 350 metrów wysokości. Jest to oczywiście kasyno połączone z hotelem. Ta wspaniała budowla została oddana do użytku w 1996 roku i do dzisiaj jest jedną z głównych atrakcji Las Vegas, a pokoje na samym szczycie wieży, z których rozpościera się przepiękny widok na miasto oraz nawet dalej na pustynie Mojave, są obiektem westchnień wielu turystów odwiedzających to piękne miasto, lecz pozwolić na nie mogą sobie jedynie najbogatsi.
Przestrzeń użytkowa wieży to aż siedem i pół tysiąca metrów kwadratowych. Na tych metrach znajduje się aż ponad dwa i pół tysiąca pokoi hotelowych, restauracje, bary, hale ze stołami do gry w blackjacka, ruletkę, kości, baccarata i wiele, wiele innych, Ponadto całe rzędy stojących tysiącami maszyn slotowych, tak chętnie użytkowanych przez gości kasyna. W których notabene zostawiają wiele milionów dolarów każdego dnia. Jak już wcześniej zostało wspomniane, Stratosphere Tower jest najwyższym budynkiem w Las Vegas, ale mało kto wie, że jest piątą najwyższą budowlą na świecie i najwyższą wolnostojącą wieżą w USA. Jedyną rywalizującą z nią budowlą jest wieża w kanadyjskim Toronto.
Początkowo planowano budowę Stratosfery jako najwyższej wieży na świecie przekraczającej 553 metry wysokości. Jak się szybko okazało, osiągnięcie takiej wysokości jest w Las Vegas niemożliwe, głównie ze względu na pobliskie lotnisku. Krótko mówiąc wieża takiej wysokości znacznie utrudniłaby, a może wręcz uniemożliwiłaby bezpieczne lądowanie samolotom. Dlatego też zdecydowano się radykalnie obniżyć jej wysokość do 350 metrów. Podczas budowy kasyna, doszło do pożaru, który strawił kilka kondygnacji budowli, co spowodowało znaczne opóźnienia w budowie w stosunku do planu. Budynek został oddany do użytkowania w roku 1996 jednak tylko częściowo dlatego, że druga cześć budowy została finalnie ukończona dopiero w roku 2001. Całkowity koszt budowy kasyna wyniósł bagatela ponad miliard dolarów.
Oprócz kasyna w tym przybytku hazardu znajduje się wiele innych, kto wie, może znacznie bardziej interesujących rozrywek niż sam hazard. Otóż na samym szczycie wieży przez pewien okres czasu znajdowała się kolejka górska. To niebywałe, ale na jazdę kolejka górską na takiej wysokości ponad 200 metrów decydują się chyba najodważniejsze osoby. Bez wątpienia czegoś takiego nie da się doświadczyć na stronach takich jak kasyna internetowe. Po jakimś czasie kolejka górska została zdemontowana żeby zrobić miejsce dla innych ciekawych atrakcji. Do tych atrakcji zaliczyć można przede wszystkim tzw „Big Shot” czyli wierze zrzutową po angielsku (drop tower), najwyżej położone urządzenie tego typu na świecie, gdyż znajduje się ono na szczycie Stratosfery. Polega to na tym, że ludzie siadają na specjalnych fotelikach, następnie wciągani są na szczyt i gwałtownie opuszczani w dół, oczywiście mechanizm hamuje w odpowiednim momencie inaczej doszło by do katastrofy. Innym urządzeniem też na szczycie wieży jest „Insanity”, to czyste szaleństwo jak sama nazwa wskazuje. Jest to coś w rodzaju karuzeli, z tym że fotele w których siedzą ludzie są umieszczone na specjalnych wysięgnikach poza budynkiem. Czyli patrzą w dół widzi się ziemie, która znajduje się ponad 300 metrów niżej, atrakcja dla ludzi o mocnych nerwach. Ponadto z wieży można skakać na bungee, oraz uprawiać tzw base jumping, czyli skok spadochronowy z krawędzi wieży. Ostatnią poza hazardową atrakcją jest tzw „X-Scream” to specjalna platforma ruchoma oczywiście która może się wahać w górę i w dół, na niej umieszczony jest wagonik w którym zasiadają ludzie, gdy mechanizm zacznie działać wagonik przesuwa się do samej krawędzi tak że ludzie siedzący w pierwszym rzędzie patrzą prosto w przepaść. Oczywiście hamuje w odpowiednim momencie i tak kilka razy w tą i w tamtą. Aż strach pomyśleć co by się stało gdyby hamulce zawiodły. To też rozrywka zdecydowanie dla ryzykantów.
Podsumowując Stratosfera w Las Vegas to jedno z ciekawszych miejsc w mieście. Zdecydowanie warto je odwiedzić, lub nawet zamieszkać tam na czas swojego pobytu w Vegas. Jak wcześniej zostało opisane oprócz hazardu i kasyn są tam liczne atrakcje dalece przewyższające to co może zaoferować nam kasyno online. Tak więc warto uzbierać trochę pieniędzy i zarezerwować sobie kilka dni wolnych no i oczywiście odwiedzić to wspaniałe miejsce. Wrażenia których tutaj doświadczymy na pewno nie zapomnimy przez długie lata.
