Kompleks Luxor swego czasu był bardzo popularny z różnych rozrywkowych atrakcji takich jak chociażby nocny klub „RA” oraz popularnego przedstawienia wystawianego w luxorskim teatrze przez grupę Blue Man Group. W tym samym teatrze wystawiany był bardzo popularny musical „Hairspray”.

Luxor jest jednym z najbardziej rozpoznawalnych kasyn w Las Vegas, głównie dzięki odważnej architekturze. W sąsiedztwie kompleksu Luxor znajdują się takie  jak Excalibur oraz Mandalay Bay. Kasyno to zostało zaprojektowane przez Veldona Simpsona. Piramida wysoka jest na 110 metrów, podstawa ma szerokość 556 stóp kwadratowych.
